Android 2.4 Ice Cream Cake

Yes, the long awaited update for Android is on its way. Google has announced that they are almost ready to release the update for Android Gingerbread. So what’s being upgraded this time? The most talked story for this update is that it’s going to be available for older models and Google has promised that it will work.

Another thing that makes us intrigued about it is that Google is going unify their mobile platform. Meaning, mobile phones and tablets will now run the same OS. From this, expect that a lot of issues are going to come up but nevertheless, this seems to be a pretty good idea.

Google showed off some new and exciting features of the Ice Cream Cake such as new game apps, new user interface, tabbed web browsing, revamped multitasking panel, facial recognition for the camera, and a lot more.

Google has done a good job picking necessary overhaul for Android. There’s no doubt that everyone is excited for the release of the 2.4. All in all, the ice cream cake is a huge update that will take Android to a whole new level. But as to the question “Will this be able to beat iOS?” You be the judge.
